My Crowning Achievement (Beating Cancer)

$14.00

Beginning with the Miss Preteen America pageant at the tender age of twelve, Molly May has dazzled audiences and judges and won one competition after another—Miss Dixie’s Outstanding Teen, Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen, Miss Belle of the Bayou, Miss Amory, and Miss Mississippi State University. She has placed in the top ten three times while competing for the coveted title of Miss Mississippi.

It may look easy to be Molly May.

But behind the pretty gowns and makeup and made-for-television smiles was a frightened young girl who didn’t make friends easily, someone who had to grow up much too fast while her single-parent mother battled breast cancer. And when Molly herself tested positive for the BRCA1 gene at age nineteen—making for an almost certain breast cancer diagnosis in the near future—she took a leap of faith and made a life-changing decision to have a double mastectomy.

Full recovery, both physically and emotionally, has taken time. But through all the pain and heartache, this special young lady has taken one of life’s greatest challenges and turned it into a heartwarming platform—a never-ending desire to provide cancer patients with love and support.

Which makes Molly May’s triumph over breast cancer her crowning achievement.

A PORTION OF PROCEEDS FROM ALL COPIES SOLD WILL GO TO BATSON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI, AND LE BONHEUR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE.
